Throw the Buk at 'em
Charles sez..."As we go on with our lives, we tend to forget that the jails and the hospitals and the madhouses and the graveyards are packed.”
From sea to shining sea, Charles sums up all of america very well.
I received more telemarketing for politicians phone messages this morning. These desperate parasites, all competing for increased theft of the american down-trodden…
Posted by joe of maine on from 02/10 at 10:27 AMMorning Joe, Mick and all…
Love that frozen Grand Central piece. I live the same way as Hempel, trying to solve the question of life. Recently, I had actually believed I had solved it...then I realized my brain was just resting a while.
CPR is not available yet, am I right? What’s the ETA?
Posted by JOS on from Oak Park 02/10 at 10:34 AMHello Expendables...from a sunny but windy NYC. It will feel like winter tonight.
JOS: I’m hoping my novel will be out by summer. I’ll certainly post updates here.
Posted by Mickey Z. on from Astoria 02/10 at 11:20 AMjoe...I finally called and added my number to the no call list. I don’t think that it applies to politricksters though.
Mickey...It is amazing to me that anyone has the patience to write a novel. I can’t wait to read it.
JOS..."the question of life” - that’s a big one. Have you been following the Exxon/Chavez news. No wonder they hate us. I wouldn’t blame Venezuela for cutting us off from their oil.
Also about Oprah...I wonder how many people will try to committ suicide after hearing her continually say that if anything is wrong in their life, it is because of some personal deficiency - they just have not been thinking the right thoughts. If I believed in book burning - which of course I don’t - “The Secret” is the first one I’d toss on the flames. Thanks for letting me vent, but I can’t help thinking about the homeless, those with cancer, those struggling with abuse, etc. Now on top of all of that, they have Oprah attacking them.
Posted by RMJ on from Mickey Z 4 Prez Hdqts 02/10 at 04:57 PMRMJ, yes I definitely follow the Venezuela news. Anything they can do to teach our government any type of lesson has my full support.
Posted by JOS on from Oak Park 02/10 at 07:40 PMAnother great entry, Mickey! I know that I am repeating myself but some things simply have to be repeated.
And I LOVE that blurb have made up my mind to buy ‘CPR for Dummies’ as soon as it comes out. I trust you still send your books out from Astoria, Mickey.
Re the photo of Grand Central: that is on the dust jacket of Richard Ford’s 2001 collection of short stories: ‘A Multitude of Sins’ - a great collection, if not as good as ‘Rock Springs’ (1987).
Hi, Joe of Maine, JOS and Rosemarie from a sunny Daylesford. After a few rather cool days, it feels like summer again: 77F today.
Now I have to do some copytyping - a text which is almost illegible in parts, which is why I keep postponing the job.
Take care!

Posted by Mickey Z. on from Astoria 02/10 at 09:41 PMMickey #7: thanks so much! As soon as your latest book is published, I’ll give you my address again.
And I must say I’d rather have Chalmers Johnson than Cullen Murphy on the subject of the American empire:

An interesting look at the top Dems:
