TV or not TV
I didn’t fully appreciate the harmful potential of television until I realized I was watching it in order to stop thinking. In that state, I would assimilate the images and narratives of people who had only the smallest grasp of what self-interest is all about. There’s no need to work hard at propagandizing when millions are eager to do most of the work for you.
I can spot the slick, manufactured talking points in the speech and writing of people glued to the box. If I spot too many, I know my fumblings towards what is largely true won’t get anywhere with them.

Posted by Harry on from 04/24 at 06:45 PMBest invention of the 21st century (thusfar). I’ve been able to silence many TV’s in local restaurants and bars with it, and what I find intriguing (but not suprising) is that no one EVER seems to notice or care. If I can help one person avoid receiving TV commercials subliminally while they eat/drink, then I can sleep soundly knowing that, on some scale, I’ve made the world a better place for humanity.
