We discovered two odd coincidences
Well, I don’t have a story to tell right now, but can link to one. It’s this:

I’ve worked with mentally retarded people who display more clarity and self-control than that. Of course, cops should be tasered themselves for each time they use one for any reason whatsoever (hey, it’s non-lethal, right?), and maybe a few more for good measure, depending on the case.
Take Two could be, “Senator Kerry, given the substantiated claims about the 2004 election in Greg Palast’s book, how is it possible you are anything other than a failure as a civic leader, and a hypocrite to boot?”

About the video getting attention: There’s an article on CounterPunch on this and Amy Goodman reported the news on DN today. Corporate media? I don’t know and don’t care.

I keep thinking how, In general, Americans who act up get tasered or mybe roughed up a bit. Dissidents in countries where America has helped spread democracy are tortured and killed.

The Press has not been reporting on this accurately. Ironically the big front page story in my local paper today is about the local police training program - “...Smoke hung heavy in the air and the smell of sulphur was strong enought to burn one’s nostrils...50 rounds from their shotguns in less than 30 seconds...deadly force...paintball battle...”. This, where the most serious and biggest arrest in the history of the town was when 12 old fogeys and a few students were arrested for protesting the war. None of us had any weapons (one kid had his asthma inhaler). It was like the scene in Dog Day Afternoon. Police cars, the entire Sheriff’s Dept, mace, State Troopers, growling police dogs.
Another “incident”. In Brattleboro an emotionally disturbed man went into a church and was threatening to committ suicide. The congregation called the Police for help to get him to a hospital. The police came and shot the man 8 times. He died.
During the campaign season, a friend who was a candidate for the US Congress was at a candidate’s debate. He was taken off the stage, thrown on the ground, and injured. He is in his 70s. His crime - he called those who were trying to silence him, “shit-heads”.

It was a pleasure to be outside. There was a deer in my neighbor’s yard. My computer room is upstairs - looking out the window I am right at eye level to thousands of bright red apples. They are the tiny ones - the size of blueberries and exist for their beauty not for people to eat. The birds and squirrels love them and are happy to eat them all winter. I must admit that the surroundings here are beautiful - Autumn flowers, pumpkins everywhere and falling leaves of sycamore.

RMJ..10..what a beautiful description of your experience at home...and this was my day.
Weather on the Maine Coast has been wonderful as well. I sat in a restaurant today that is elevated and overlooks the Androscoggin River, ate a salad off a wooden board. The eatery is part of an old textile mill renovation project called Fort Andros..can’t get away from the military. On the other side of the river, there’s some kind of micro-brewery, restaurant that also is on the rivers edge and once an old paper processing mill.
I was told in recent times, one could tell what color paper was being made fore the river was polluted and that color. Very sad. The river is cleaner today but there are various warnings and other wildlife hang out at the river.
There are Salmon ladders built along the edge of the river..unfortunately, thanks to capitalism, there are no Salmon to run upstream into fresh water and spawn. Thru the viewing window, only 1 Salmon was seen recently during the entire summer.
I have seen large Sturgeon while kayaking...an incredibly interesting fish that gets very large...they are protected.
Mickey...I’ve got to find subways to hangout at!

up until i was seven seems i could remember everything i ever did. i could remember what i had for lunch on every single week before (probably a peanut butter and jelly sandwich). what i had for lunch today?
i remember once swinging a bucket ‘round and ‘round-- amazed that the water did not fall out!
one time i thought i could hop-- really fast-- on a swing just as it got to the bottom… so i could fly as high as the big kids.
how did they do it?there were no doctors there… so i got stitches from a vet in a circus tent!
i just looked in a mirror and i can’t see the scar anymore.
the weather here in san francisco is especially pleasant just now. the wind is sucking at my curtains… i close my eyes… and i can almost remember another time and place just as pleasant.
maybe i will remember today… one day.
