What I Believe (It's Not All About Criticism)

  1. I enjoyed this article a great deal...especially the paragraph on American Dreams (plural).  The singular “American Dream” we all are supposed to strive for has created what seems at times to be a waking nightmare.

Perhaps these new dreams will be (or, more likely, already ARE) created by people from all throughout the real America, North and South.

In fact, that comfortable numbness you spoke of seems to act so powerfully in the US of America, that we will HAVE to look to our neighbors for inspiration.

I don’t know much about the Puerto Rican Young Lords, doing some research now.  Thanks for pointing them out.

  2. Thanks, James...it would a quantum leap forward if we in the West began to appreciate how much we can learn from those in the so-called Third World.
