Will we ever make it ever stop?
Will It Ever Stop? Sure, but not voluntarily. I often think of deer overpopulating an island. Or Alphonse and Gaston. Also that great garbage patch in the Pacific Ocean. And pinstriped lobbyists on a poorly-stocked lifeboat.
MZ, I have half a mind...um, what was the next part? Oh, yes. To try and make your talk at the Bohemian Beer Hall on March 10.
Useless Ephemera: for the fifth time, Rush did not win a Grammy for Rock Instrumental. That’s a 27 year run, people. Makes me admire them even more.
Northeast Alert: Derrick Jensen will be appearing at the Rowe Center on March 7-9. That’s near the borders of NY/VT/MA. He doesn’t come out this way very often.
Posted by Zen Prole on from Urth 02/12 at 12:28 PMThanks, Zen. Of course it would be very, very cool to have you (and any Expendable) in the audience but, wow...it’s quite a trek for a one-night event.
For now, those of you with friends, enemies, or anything in-between in the Big Apple, please let them know.
Posted by Mickey Z. on from Astoria 02/12 at 02:02 PMHi Zen.
Mickey...thanks for today’s front page. You can’t top today’s - Fisk photos AND your Churchill article. One of the photos is similar to one recently sent me by a dem “friend”. It is a photo of an Iraqi child’s charred body, burned to death by our bombs. The e-mail that came with the photo said that I caused the deaths of the children because I supported Nader and put Bush in the White House.Posted by RMJ on from Mickey Z 4 Prez Hdqts 02/12 at 03:50 PMThanks, RMJ. To those who blame Nader voters, I ask:
*Where was the outrage when liberal hero Bill Clinton ordered 78 days of U.S./NATO bombing over Yugoslavia in ‘99 and continued bombing and starving Iraq throughout his full eight years?
*Where were the simplistic Nazi references when he blew up a Sudanese pharmaceutical plant to distract us from Monica’s cigar fetish?
*Where were the Hitler mustaches when Clinton bombed Iraq in response to an alleged plot to assassinate Bush the Elder and ended up killing Leila Attar, that country’s best-known female artist? You can be sure these questions qill be asked on March 10.
Posted by Mickey Z. on from Astoria 02/12 at 04:01 PMThanks, Mickey. Maybe more civilians were killed during the Clinton administration than under both Bushes, worse yet, the official line of the Clintons was that “it was worth it”. Have you ever tried to remind a dem of that? Their eyes glaze over and they just don’t get it.
http://tinyurl.com/2magyjPosted by RMJ on from Mickey Z 4 Prez Hdqts 02/12 at 04:42 PMGood points all around… I was looking at the front page and reminded of my bewilderment at Neil Young’s support for Ronald Reagan. Something about that just doesn’t make sense to me. Anyone here know anything about that I don’t?

DN is looking for a producer in NYC.
Posted by RMJ on from Mickey Z 4 Prez Hdqts 02/12 at 05:48 PMBoy, not only do I not have these qualifications, I don’t even know what some of them mean:
Democracy Now!, a Manhattan based daily independent TV/Radio/Internet news hour, seeks TV Producer/Editor. This position is responsible for the production of all visual elements of our live daily broadcast. Duties include editing B-roll packages, SOTs and VOs, monitoring news feeds, LIVE on-air playback, some field production, remote studio booking, and stringer coordination. This position requires familiarity with DN and good journalistic judgment. Other qualifications: 3-5 years TV news experience, ability to execute very competent and fast Final Cut Pro edits under pressure, proficiency in Photoshop, familiarity with media servers, ability to send and receive video through an FTP client, excellent camera, communication, and computer skills.
Posted by Mickey Z. on from Astoria 02/12 at 05:51 PM‘Will it ever stop?’ Good question, Zen Prole! Not as long as only the UNBORN life is considered sacrosanct - and not only in the Third World but in the First World as well.
Hi from a sunny but rather cool (70F) Daylesford to Zen Prole, the Cool Observer and Rosemarie (#5: were really more civilians killed during the Clinton presidency than under both Bushes? What about the death toll in Iraq since March 2003? Just wondering ..)
And Mickey #9: IMHO you have ALL the qualifications but that might just be me.
Have a good afternoon wherever you are!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YqKEu9aPOh0Man I must be really bored at work if I’m posting that. See, there was leftover hummus at the Transportaion Alternatives (http://www.transalt.org) fundraising bike ride, and… embarrassing how long I made those ten pounds last.
