"Desperately important work to be done"
I’m ba-a-a-a-k...
Derrick Jensen sez: “One of the good things about everything being so fucked up—about the culture being so ubiquitously destructive—is that no matter where you look—no matter what your gifts, no matter where your heart lies—there’s good and desperately important work to be done.”
As I’ve discussed here, the “good and desperately important work"—for me—may or may not involve writing (or at least the type of writing I’ve typically done) anymore. If possible, I’d like to find new (better?) ways to work as a counter-balance to our “ubiquitously destructive” culture. Time will tell…
I’ll eventually elaborate on this point. In the meantime, Cool Observer will continue its somewhat erratic posting schedule throughout the summer...and the comments section will always remain “open” for others to converse.
