Does the Pope shit in the woods?
When the new Catholic CEO (Celibate Evangelical Ogre) was just a little pope doing time in the Hitler Youth, the Church was fronted by Pope Pius XI...a man who shared Benito Mussolini’s Bolshevik paranoia. In exchange for Fascist recognition of the independence of Vatican City, Pope Pius XI bestowed his blessing upon Il Duce’s invasion of Ethiopia and his intervention in the Spanish Civil War. Even after Italy had aligned itself with Nazi Germany, the papacy never broke with either Fascist regime.
New Pope Ratzo is all about appeasing John Paul’s reactionaries and is perhaps, the last gasp of the Catholic Church as we know it. At 78, he probably won’t even last a decade...and by then, the Catholics of the Third World will demand a new face and more than a few changes.
Catholics of the Third World...sounds like a bad New Wave band, huh?

Computer update: My eMac is up and running. The old machine is disconnected. But, one problem remains: Thanks to the impact of many years of writing on the tendons of my forearms, I use joystick mouse...which seems to be an issue. It’ll work fine and then act a little wacky. Sometimes it creates pulldown menus no matter where I click. This is the joystick: http://store.ergocube.com/3mermous.html.
Anyone have thoughts on this?
