Looks like God's doing his "smiting" thang again...

Yesterday, I posted this Dylan stanza:
The reason for fighting I never got straight
But I learned to accept it/Accept it with pride
For you don’t count the dead when God’s on your side

If we go back just a little further, we find this gem from some guy called Aristotle:

A tyrant must put on the appearance of uncommon devotion to religion. Subjects are less apprehensive of illegal treatment from a ruler whom they consider god-fearing and pious. On the other hand, they do less easily move against him, believing that he has the gods on his side.

So, I guess this is yet another heavenly massacre:

54 Bodies found in Iraq town after US offensive

RAMADI, Iraq, Nov 12 (Reuters) - An Iraqi Red Crescent doctor said on Saturday more than 50 bodies had been found in the rubble of a town near the Syrian border which U.S.-led troops swept through this week in an anti-insurgent offensive.

On a much, much, much lighter note…

...yesterday’s party/fundraiser was a unqualified success. Lots of money raised, everyone had a blast, and those present were treated to the sight of yours truly in a Can-Can dress. I promise to post more details and—I hope—some images very soon.
