Target makes a sweatshop bulls eye
Some affluent Americans jokingly call it “tar-zhay” and yes, the company has made some community efforts...but this recent Alternet article puts Target right up there with Wal-Mart.
Of course, the Target/sweatshop issue is nothing new. For example, it reared its ugly head in 1999 and 2000. But then again, some folks actually like sweatshops.
How do you make your shopping choices? Thrift shops or mall worship? Yard sales or Home Shopping Network? Mom-and-Pop or chain stores? Clothing swaps or conspicuous consumption?
