ABKB: Anybody But Kerry or Bush

In 2000, there were 195,027,520 eligible voters in America...156,421,311 were registered, but only 110,604,647 actually hit the polling booths. That’s 56.7% of eligible voters participating.

50,455,739 voted for Bush
50,996,039 for Gore
2,781,109 for Nader
The rest were scattered over a handful of other candidates.

Almost 85 million more Americans could have voted in the 2000 presidential election...but opted out.

Imagine if they came out today and voted for Nader or Cobb or Peltier or whomever...if for no other reason than to say that what they (we) want is not on the menu.

ABKB: Anybody But Kerry or Bush.

If you didn’t vote in 2000 and are still eligible, why not come out today and send a message? And bring 10-20 friends with you.

American voters can have much, much more...if they are willing to take it. Not ask for it...take it.

Nothing will change until we change our minds.

Finally, in case anyone thinks I’ve deluded myself into thinking today’s election will make a difference, I close with these two quotes:

“Voting is not an act of political freedom. It is an act of political
conformity.”
-Wendy McElroy

“Voting is not an expression of power, but an admission of powerlessness.”
-Fred Woodworth
