Blame it on the Comet
With all the buzz about making Deep Impact with a comet, I am beginning to see things more clearly.

Sixty-five million years ago, planet earth was braving the third period of the Mesozoic Age. First came Triassic...then came Spielberg, I mean, Jurassic.
The third period was Cretaceous.
During this Period, a prodigious comet (or conceivably an asteroid) impacted upon what is now commonly accepted as the Yucatán Peninsula of Mexico with the force of a hundred million hydrogen bombs. Some comet.
The resulting tsunami and subsequent impact winter wiped out a flourishing species at the pinnacle of the food chain: Dinosaurs.
The absence of dinosaurs allowed for the eventual emergence of new dominant species, Homo sapiens:
So...in your next moment of human-induced fury, frustration, commiseration, or despair, endeavor a fresh perspective and: Blame it on the comet.
