Christine Hamm passes yours truly the stick
Christine Hamm, poet and provocateur, has lured me into tackling the questions below (see her answers at: http://chamm.blogspot.com). I was limited to three people to whom I could pass the proverbial stick...but I think it might be at least mildly interesting if others here posted their answers in the comments section.
1. You’re stuck inside Fahrenheit 451, which book do you want to be?
James Baldwin’s “The Fire Next Time” or Ramsey Clark’s “The Fire This Time”? Then again, any Joan of Arc bio would be appropriate...or perhaps a Fire Dept. Manual made out of fireproof material.
2. Have you ever had a crush on a fictional character?
Technically, yes. Those girls in Penthouse Forum are allegedly real...but are more likely fictional, right?
3. The last book you bought is:
“Guerrilla Warfare” by Che Guevara
4. The last book you read:
“Articles of War” by Nick Arvin (see yesterday’s post here)
5. What are you currently reading?
“Downtown : My Manhattan” by Pete Hamill
“South of No North” by Charles Bukowski (for the third time)
6. Five books you would take to a deserted island:
“The Idiot’s Guide to Surviving on a Desert Island” or maybe
“How to Make a Kick-Ass Raft out of Misc. Shit You Find on the Beach”
But seriously, folks, I’d like a few collections of Bukowski’s short fiction. Oddly, I can read them several times and they always seem new to me (see #5). Also, it might be a good time to finally read all those literary and political theory classics I missed by not attending college...and, yeah, a really large blank book for writing.
7. Who are you going to pass this stick to (3 persons) and why?

Declan McGauran (http://www.chiselpoint.blogspot.com)—Because he’s just started his blog and this could be a fun jumpstart
