Crime and punishment = commodities
The recently incarcerated Beanie Sigel has created his own stable of artists (Young Gunz, Peedi Crakk), movies, and clothing line...all under the name “State Property” (which, I assume, is a reference to prison-issued goods).
On a downtown #5 train, one side of the subway car’s interior is covered with ads for State Property...ads featuring gangstas right out of Central Casting (see above).
On the other side of the subway car, my eyes are greeted by recruiting ads for the NYPD.
The ads, being stared down by the State Property crew, read:
“The Action. The Adventure. The Pride. The Purpose.”
Just another day in the land of denial…
