Election Haiku & Existential Exit Poll
I wrote this haiku in 1992...the last time an alleged liberal faced off against a member of the Bush dynasty:
you once seemed very
important but now you are
another four years
------------
And now the first ever “Existential Exit Poll”:
If you were to run away, what would you join?
[ ] the circus
[ ] the French Foreign Legion
What feels more natural nestled firmly in the palm of your hand?
[ ] a remote control
[ ] a vibrator
[ ] a cell phone
What question are you asked most often?
[ ] What’s your sign?
[ ] Do you come here often?
[ ] May I see your license and registration, please?
[ ] What question are you asked most often?
If your life were to be presented on stage, which would it be?
[ ] comedy
[ ] tragedy
[ ] farce
Would the audience:
[ ] laugh?
[ ] cry?
[ ] walk out?

Eugene Debs says: “I’d rather vote for something I want and not get it than vote for something I don’t want, and get it.”
