Every dog has its day

A friend of mine sent me this e-mail report from Florida:

"As people abandon their foreclosed homes around my neighborhood (Broward County lost over 14,000 residents last year), they’re leaving behind their pets. Given the troglodytic nature of Floridians, most are pit bulls, Rottweilers, and similar breeds—most likely purchased with the proceeds of a home equity loan. So, in a putatively “upscale” Fort Lauderdale neighborhood, there roams packs of feral dogs who’ve lately been preying on the local feline population, which are equally domestic and feral due to the abandonment practice aforementioned. This why I’m nominating Alan Greenspan for dogcatcher!"
