Generally speaking...(plus: yours truly on the radio again)
U.S. General Curtis LeMay sez: “I suppose if I had lost the war, I would have been tried as a war criminal. Fortunately, we were on the winning side.”
(after World War II)
U.S. General Wesley Clark sez: “I’ve got to get the maximum violence out of this campaign—now!”
(on the U.S./NATO bombing of Yugoslavia in 1999)
U.S. General William Westmoreland sez: “It does deprive the enemy of the population, doesn’t it?”
(on the deliberate killing of Vietnamese civilians)
U.S. General Alexander Haig sez: “That’s not a lie; it’s a terminological inexactitude. Also, a tactical misrepresentation.”
(on pretty much everything the U.S. gov’t says or does)

The Latest Mickey Z. News:
My most recent article provoked this interesting public response from Jack Random (hey, it’s nice to be noticed). His comments reminded me of this from I.F. Stone: “If you expect to see the final results of your work, you simply have not asked a big enough question.”
Your thoughts?
Also, I’ll be interviewed today (for about 25 minutes) on KBUR in Burlington, Iowa at 2:05 pm EST. Hope you’ll tune in and/or spread the word...and while you’re in word-spreading mode: It’s Tell-a-Friend Thursday so I have a very simple assignment for those visiting the site today:
Convince someone you know to stop by and have a look around. Thanks...
