Helping Orphans in East Timor

East Timor is an island nation--a former Portuguese colony just above Australia--that became the target of a relentless, murderous, and U.S.-sponsored assault by Indonesia on December 7, 1975. Two-thirds of the island’s population eventually died from war, starvation, and disease.



Today, East Timor is struggling toward what passes for independence in a corporate world and, as you might imagine, the presence of America is any way, shape, or form has resulted in abject poverty. A regular reader here has informed me of a small way we can help some of the children orphaned by decades of desperation.
