How to deal with horseshit
In the 1850s, the future founders of the Brooklyn Botanic Garden set free roughly 50 pairs of the previously unknown European house sparrow (Passer domesticus) inside Brooklyn’s Green-Wood Cemetery.
By picking the hayseeds out of horse droppings, the tiny birds not only survived, they thrived...and are now one of the continent’s most ubiquitous creatures.
Moral: When all they feed us is horseshit...we should be desperately seeking the hayseeds within.
Question: What hayseeds have you found?
