I was too amused to be afraid
I’m warming up for King Kong next week...
(Storytelling Saturday...on my Dad’s birthday)
Once upon a time...
As you may or may not know, my Dad was a federal agent for many years...but he’s rarely been one to talk much about it. One of the few glimpses I ever got into his work persona came about when my mother had her chain snatched a couple of decades ago. I was standing out front with some friends when my Dad came rushing out of our apartment...after getting the frantic phone call from Mom.
We jumped into his government car and sped off on a trip that would typically take at least fifteen minutes by car.
It is legend in the Zezima family that my Dad drives slowly—very slowly—and has little sense of direction. Well, that afternoon, I was treated to another side of his auto-handling skills. We raced through red lights, darted in and out of traffic, and were practically on the sidewalk at one point. I was too amused to be afraid.
We reached the crime scene in under three minutes.
THE END
So, who else has a story?

I’ll tell you what I want...what I really, really want…
More Bob Dylan:
All right then...Mr. Zimmerman gets the last word (from “Dear Landlord"):
"Each of us has his own special gift
and you know this was meant to be true.
And if you don’t underestimate me,
I won’t underestimate you."
