Imagine?

Joe from Maine has been e-mailing me for years...and never fails to catch my eye with his provocative prose.

Yesterday, however, Joe from Maine outdid himself with this one:

“for years I have wanted to televise an event...85,000 people gather in a stadium and for 2 hours, live on tv...85,000 people will form 2 lines and will hug each other...everyone will get to hug everyone...Al Michaels will not be the commentator...and we will not be interrupted every 3 minutes to be advised about the latest suv.........oh, and smoking will be allowed in the stadium in case their are people fearful of hugging someone of the opposite sex......I figure after they see a few thousand others hug...they will transcend the limiting fear.........and perhaps gain a step toward not smoking.”

I asked Joe from Maine if I could mention this idea on my site...he replied:

“absolutely...I love to hug...and a hugging event won’t need a rating...it will good for people of all ages...we can perhaps have instant replays of especially fond moments...I don’t mind being seen crying...from sadness or joy...yes...encourage this idea...Mickey...perhaps it will become contagious...!thanks...”

Today, the 24th anniversary of John Lennon’s murder, you may say Joe’s a dreamer...but he’s not the only one.
