It's hard to top yesterday's post...but, hey, only a mediocre blogger is always at his best

Looks like there’s a leak in here…

Indictments of high-ranking officials are always a good thing, but...as the Beach Boys might say:

Wouldn’t it be nice…

...if they handed out indictments for this, too:

Cheney campaigns for torture…

...as the victims plead for death:

(Thanks, JOS)

(Thanks, Michael)

Wouldn’t it be nice…
...if not just a few Bush cronies got indicted? How about Clinton’s crimes? Bush the Elder? Reagan? Carter? Need I go on?

Why stop at elected (sic) officials? Wouldn’t it be nice to round up the corporate pirates who seem hell-bent on making this blue planet uninhabitable?

Eduardo Galeano sez:

“Every year poverty kills more people than the entire Second World War, which killed quite a few. But from the vantage point of the powerful, extermination is not a bad idea if it helps regulate a population that is growing too fast ... The most prestigious banks launder the most drug money and harbor the most stolen cash. The most successful industries are the most poisonous for the planet.”

More indictments, please…

Teddy Roosevelt was born 147 years ago today. The great American hero once said:
“Democracy has justified itself by keeping for the white race the best portions of the earth’s surface.”

NYC subways are 101 years old today…

Can you imagine a car-free Central Park? Well, Ken Coughlin and the good folks at Transportation Alternatives are working on it (and you can help: http://www.transalt.org).

Blah, blah, blog

I don’t know if Al Gore had blogs in mind when he invented the Internet…

...but the blogging backlash is hitting full stride.

Blogging, it seems, is even worse than heroin:

To top things off, my damn blog is worth more than me:

My blog is worth $35,566.02.
How much is your blog worth?

It might be even more valuable if I adopted rules like Stan Goff:

Prof. Chomsky says:
“It is quite possible--overwhelmingly probable, one might guess--that we will always learn more about human life and human personality from novels than from scientific psychology.”
