"Literary fractals of individual force"
He’s got the credentials: Cornell grad, two novels published, nominated for literary awards, reviewed books for the New York Times, teaches writing in the Big Apple, and flaunts a name any middle linebacker would be proud of (http://tinyurl.com/dqlku). Most notably, perhaps, Thaddeus Rutkowski, author of the just-released novel “Tetched,” is a man of few words.

His prose is sparse...each word weighed carefully. Each paragraph like a painting; each chapter possessing the power of a one-act play—Rutkowski crafts literary fractals of individual force that add up to form a singular, powerful narrative. Witty, sad, provocative, and sexy, “Tetched” is what one might expect from a true original.

The George Orwell “War is Peace” Award goes to Bill O’Reilly, who recently delineated the “rules” for life in his No-Spin Zone:
“No slander and no personal accusations without facts to back them up. If the guest violates those rules, they are scolded by me and will not be invited back.”

It was 44 years ago today…
President John F. Kennedy, speaking on civil defense, advises American families to build bomb shelters to protect them from atomic fallout in the event of a nuclear exchange with the Soviet Union.
(I still see signs like this throughout my neighborhood.)

Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water…
...comes another plea to buy my new book, “50 American Revolutions You’re Not Supposed to Know: Reclaiming American Patriotism.”
With the holidays right around the damn corner, it’s the gift that keeps on giving:
