The Trial (and re-trial) of America's "Peace Grandma"

Rosemarie “RMJ” Jackowski—America’s Peace Grandma—is facing a retrial on charges stemming from her arrest at a March 2003 anti-war rally in Vermont. To get up to speed on this important story, here’s my October 2005 interview with RMJ. To bring yourself completely up to date, check out this article about the impending retrial.

What you can do: Spread the word. If you have a blog, post about this. Make posts on your local Indymedia site and/or Craig’s List. Use list-serves, forums, chat rooms, public meetings, etc.

Rosemarie’s case can and must be reach a global audience. Any and all suggestions are welcome. In addition, to offer moral, financial, legal, and/or any other kind of support to RMJ, e-mail her at:

Thanks...

Ward Churchill sez “The bottom line of my argument is that the best and perhaps only way to prevent 9-1-1-style attacks on the U.S. is for American citizens to compel their government to comply with the rule of law. The lesson of Nuremberg is that this is not only our right, but our obligation. To the extent we shirk this responsibility, we, like the ‘Good Germans’ of the 1930s and ‘40s, are complicit in its actions and have no legitimate basis for complaint when we suffer the consequences. This, of course, includes me, personally, as well as my family, no less than anyone else.”
