Where the (sex) toys aren't
Did you know there’s an Alabama law that forbids the sale or distribution of “any device designed or marketed as useful primarily for the stimulation of human genital organs”? Did you also know that the U.S. Supreme Court has refused to hear challenges to the law?
For some unexplained reason, my friend Chris knew...and he sent me the story.
Phallus, anyone?
First-time vibrators...I mean, violators can face a fine of up to $10,000 and as much as one year in an Alabama jail. In other words, you risk become someone’s sex toy if you get caught using a sex toy. Ah, sweet home Alabama.
FYI: Georgia and Texas are the only other states that restrict the distribution of “sexual devices.” (Pop Survey: Is anyone surprised?)
