Hello? Is anyone "mad as hell" yet?
When I see images like this…
(More here: http://tinyurl.com/yu63t)
...I hear Neil Young howling in my head:
“There’s one more kid
that will never go to school
Never get to fall in love,
never get to be cool.”
As we keep on rockin’ in the free world, the U.S. military and its corporate owners do their thing in the Third World.
If this situation tears at your gut, I want you to get up right now, go to your windows, open them, stick your head out, and yell: “I’m as mad as hell and I’m not going to take this anymore!” Things have got to change. But first, you’ve gotta get mad!... You’ve got to say, “I’m as mad as hell, and I’m not going to take this anymore!”
(Hear this speech from “Network”: http://tinyurl.com/b399e)
(Don’t miss the trailer: http://tinyurl.com/b577g)
From the movie:
“You get up on your little twenty-one inch screen and howl about America and democracy. There is no America. There is no democracy. There is only IBM and ITT and AT&T and DuPont, Dow, Union Carbide, and Exxon. Those are the nations of the world today.”

I’d say “Network” might be worth another viewing…

It was 62 years ago today…
On this day in 1943, Reichsfuhrer-SS Heinrich Himmler addressed a squad leaders of his Nazi secret police. He said: “Most of you know what it means to see a hundred corpses lying together, five hundred, or a thousand. To have stuck it out and at the same time...to have remained decent fellows, that is what has made us hard. This is a page of glory in our history which has never been written and shall never be written.”

(Himmler on far right...of course)

Good first step: Becoming conscious of our own strength
An Italian-born former law student, Gabriele Zamparini moved to the States in 1998 where he worked as an Italian teacher and freelance journalist. It was post-9/11 that Zamparini got the idea to make a documentary about “the fast growing, grassroots peace movement” he was witnessing in America.
The result was a seven-part film series called “XXI CENTURY” and now a book, “American Voices of Dissent.”
