I've got mail...
I never know what to expect in my inbox...now there are the people who saw me on C-Span but somehow think it’s logical to send me gloating messages about Bush winning and “my guy” losing. Was I speaking English on Oct. 16?
Here’s another winner:
In January 2004, I wrote this article that criticized the New York Times hero-worshipping coverage of American snipers in Iraq:

Predictably, plenty of Solider of Fortune types missed the point of the piece and sent me negative e-mails. Oddly, I got another one today--10 months later--that eloquently read:
“You suck! Those guys risk their lives for you and you write this trash, you don’t shouldn’t have the right to type this crap but these guys kill so you can! I will be sending this articl to the sniper community so expect a lot more mail like this!”
To which I replied:
“I don’t know what’s worse, your silly reaction or the fact that there actually is a ‘sniper community’ for you to contact.”
