Kurt Nimmo says:

OK, it’s really getting absurd. So absurd that the following was actually posted by the Associated Press this afternoon:

“In video shot [in Fallujah] by an embedded CNN cameraman, soldiers walked through an imposing building with concrete columns and with a large sign in Arabic on the wall reading ‘Al Qaida Organization’ and ‘There is no God but Allah and Muhammad is his messenger.’”

Inside the building, U.S. soldiers found documents, old computers, notebooks, photographs and copies of the Quran.

If anybody believes this is an actual al-Qaeda branch office—AP want us to believe it is “the main headquarters of the insurgent group headed by Jordanian terrorist Abu Musab al-Zarqawi"—they need to stop watching Fox News and spend more time over at Comedy Central or the Cartoon Channel, where they will find more reality-based programming.

OK, let’s assume this story is true. Is there any logical reason Abu Musab al-Zarqawi would leave “documents, old computers, notebooks, photographs” behind for the Marines to find? Isn’t this patently stupid? Is there a reason al-Zarqawi didn’t destroy this stuff? Is al-Zarqawi a dumbo? Is al-Qaeda the most ineffectual and boneheaded terrorist organization in the world?

Obviously, this story is a load of rubbish.

Sadly, far too many Americans will buy into this transparent spoof. It will be used as “evidence” that al-Zarqawi was in Fallujah. It will be used to dispel any doubt that al-Zarqawi is an actual person, not a myth.
