Listen...do you wanna know a secret?
“They say a secret is something you tell one other person...”
("The Fly,” U2)
Post Secret is one of my favorite websites…
Check it out (http://postsecret.blogspot.com) and let me know what you think.
Here’s a poorly kept secret: I’m a sucker for mini-animation images like this:
Anyone got a secret they wanna share?
It’s not much of a secret, but I recently tracked down my original Ving Tsun Kung Fu teacher and I may get myself back into it soon with two of his distance students who still live here in NYC.
Until then, did you know Bruce Almighty used Ving Tsun techniques in this sequence from “Enter the Dragon”?
It’s should be no secret that I just finished reading this excellent book:
“Dark Noon: The Final Voyage of the Fishing Boat ‘Pelican’” by Tom Clavin
A well-written, suspenseful tale of nature yet again making humanity pay for it perpetual hubris. Highly recommended.
Speaking of books, it is absolutely no secret that I’d love for everyone to order my latest book, “50 American Revolutions You’re Not Supposed to Know: Reclaiming American Patriotism.”
Mickey Z. says: “It makes a great gift.”
AK Press says: “Mickey Z dives, Howard Zinn style, into American history, to excavate 50 people and events that should make us all proud...but from which you’re unlikely to read, or hear about, from the flag-waving jingoists. There’s Thomas Paine and Emma Goldman, of course. Eugene Debs running for president from his prison cell. American Indians occupying Alcatraz, the Battle of Seattle, Muhammad Ali saying no to the military draft, and Lolita Lebron attacking Congress. There’s Coxey’s Army, Public Enemy, and the Families of 9/11 victims saying no to revenge, and forty or so other reasons to feel inspired, encouraged, and proud that amongst all the lies and nonsense, a lot of good stuff has happened here in America.”
“It’s no secret that a conscience can sometimes be a pest
It’s no secret ambition bites the nails of success
Every artist is a cannibal, every poet is a thief
All kill their inspiration and sing about their grief”
("The Fly,” U2)
