Love behind bars
I just ran into fellow Astoria resident Lori Evanson at the local health food store (Sai Organics) and she told me about a NY-area benefit event for Hour Children (http://www.hourchildren.org), an organization “committed to the loving care of incarcerated mothers, ex-offenders, and their children, providing short- and long-term support services.”
The benefit is Tuesday, June 21...starts at 8:00 pm...at “Show” (135 W. 41st St.). In the name of helping the cause, they’ve got live entertainment, door prizes, and an open bar from 8:00-9:00.
I promised Lori I would spread the word...and I hope some of you will, too.
