More from the Land of Denial

Rewind to, say, 1964...forty years ago.

Now imagine if the average American were told that in 2004, he or she would have to buy bottles of filtered water, own an air filter, and would have to carefully shop to avoid products laden with pesticides, chemicals, or genetically modified organisms.

How would that American have reacted? Would anyone have believed it? If so, would they have done anything to prevent it?
