New word order
Since Deb Chapman of the Progressive Blogger Union (http://www.pbu.blogspot.com) chose “Media Reform” as this week’s topic, I’m offering an excerpt from an older article of mine, “New Word Order”:
Kill someone while wearing a uniform and you’re a hero…do it in gang colors and you’re a criminal. Hire a lawyer to help you find tax loopholes and you’re a good businessman…make a few bucks off the books and you’re a tax cheat. Sell cigarettes, alcohol and lottery tickets and you’re an entrepreneur…smoke a joint and bet with a bookie: you’re a menace to society.

Personal update: I’m back in NYC. My Mom’s situation grew more complicated and frustrating by the day and it made sense for me to come home and regroup before heading back soon. Thanks for all the good wishes...and keep the positive vibes coming.
