OPERATION: BOLIVIA (Dec. 12)

“An Evening of Cause & Effect”

No, we won’t be armed with guns or ammo but we will be personally hitting the scene hard with stuff like shoes and school uniforms for street kids and orphans who are excluded from attending class because they can’t afford these items. It’s the “hearts and minds” concept...without ulterior motives.

We’re in hot pursuit of some greater definition of what it means to be “American” - and we want YOU.

HOW: Just show up and make a donation or buy a raffle. New York/Astoria authors Mickey Z (http://www.mickeyz.net) and Richard Joseph (http://www.transcend.ws) are hosting a holiday season book reading/art installation/fundraiser in the People’s Republic of Brooklyn. (Richard and his wife Lisa will personally deliver the money and purchase the goods in Bolivia in January.)



WHY: Because there are 587 billionaires in the world. Combined, those 587 are worth more than 170 countries while at least a billion people on the planet subsisting on the equivalent of one US dollar a day or less and nearly 4 billion people around the world earn less than $1,500 (US) a year.

As Arundhati Roy reminds us:
“People from poorer places and poorer countries have to call upon their compassion not to be angry with ordinary people in America.”
