re: Polar bears
Polar bears have been known to swim 100 miles at a stretch. For short distances, they can run 30 mph. They have been seen walking in a straight line for 20 miles to food—with only their noses to guide them—and can sniff out a seal from ten football field lengths away...even if the seal is hidden under three feet of ice.
Oh yeah...one more thing: Thanks to humans, polar bears are essentially doomed.
Who wants to tell us something interesting about an endangered (or extinct) species?
