The Birthday Weekend™

It’s a tradition here in the Zezima household to commandeer a full weekend for celebrating birthdays (started because Michele is born so near to Thanksgiving). Well, web surfers, we are deep in the midst of my latest b’day weekend...and that means Michele and I get to do more fun things than the law typically allows. The NYC weather has been iffy so I canned a day at Coney Island...but we’ve already done this:

An Astoria bargain matinee of “Kung Fu Hustle” (http://www.sonypictures.net/movies/kungfuhustle/site)

Some swings at the local batting cage

Thrift shop browsing, dinner at Cup Diner, and more…

Upcoming options include:

Yankees vs. Blue Jays (weather permitting, of course)

Sue Coe (http://www.graphicwitness.org/coe/coebio.htm) at the St. Etienne Gallery

(Coe’s “Memorial to an Unexploded Landmine")

The Museum of Sex (http://museumofsex.com/exhibitions/index.html)

A trip to the Isamu Noguchi Museum (http://www.noguchi.org/currentevents.html)

Harold Lloyd’s “Speedy” (http://www.filmforum.org/films/speedy.html) at the Film Forum...with a live piano player.

And, of course, dinner at the greatest restaurant on the planet: Angelica Kitchen (http://www.angelicakitchen.com)

(I’m not fishing for b’day greetings, but...)
