Warning: Slowdown Ahead
Due to an urgent medical situation involving my mother, I’ll be headed very soon to be with her in Texas.
I’ll try to find a computer while I’m there...but this site will likely experience a more than a little inactivity as it approaches its first birthday.
This scenario had me introspective on my commute yesterday morning. As I gazed about the subway car, I couldn’t help but wonder: which of these people have some incubating condition or disease and how many of them even know about it? I zeroed in on an obese man with the stench of cigarettes on his clothes. How could he not have a tumor somewhere? Then again, having spent my entire life in a polluted cesspool like NYC, who the hell am I to talk?
At least I can say that by going vegan, eating mostly organic, staying in shape, and keeping the attitude under control, I didn’t lay out a friggin’ red carpet. I put up a goddamned fight and if (when?) I get cancer, I’ll do my best to make sure that it’s cancer I die of...not chemo.
