What? You're still poor? Well, don't blame Bill, Bono, or Blair

From AP, re: Live 8:

“Bono effortlessly worked the crowd. Bjork strutted the stage. Celine Dion was beamed via satellite. And Bill Gates was treated like a rock star. Live 8’s long, winding road around the globe Saturday was an eclectic, unprecedented extravaganza.”

Billionaire Bill told the cheering crowd that “some day in the future, all the people in the world will be able to lead a healthy life.”

If that doesn’t get your capitalist juices flowing, Tony Blair told an MTV studio audience that “concern for developing countries” was partly what drew him into politics.

‘’Thirty years ago I was the age of most people who are here,” Blair explained. “Thirty years later I’m in a position to do something about it, so I think I should.’’

Chris Martin of Coldplay called the concerts “the greatest thing that’s ever been organized, probably, in the history of the world.”

So what the hell are you waiting for? Stop being poor, okay? It’s so twentieth century.
